If you’ve ever been on the end of a holiday travel mishap, you know first-hand how stressful seasonal snafus can be. Delayed flights, left-behind bags, cramped seats, and long layovers can all dampen cheer before you’ve even gotten to family holiday dynamics. In fact, according to a recent survey commissioned by Mars, around two in three Americans who travel over the winter holidays have had at least one stressful experience.

M&M’S is hoping to make one airport a bit happier—and more colorful—this holiday season. The candy company’s first-ever M&M’S Merry Movie Holiday Lounge will be launching at the Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL) on Wednesday, December 20. The free lounge pop-up in Dallas, Texas will feature a looping classic holiday movie and M&M’S for visitors to snack on from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through December 31 with the exception of Christmas Day. M&M’S Merry Movie Holiday Lounge will feature the comforts of home while travelers are away—holly-jolly style.

M&M'S

"Everyone knows how hectic and busy holiday travel can be, especially for travelers whose plans are disrupted by delays, cancellations or rescheduling," said VP of Seasonal Marketing at Mars Wrigley Allison Miazga-Bedrick. "Mars aims to inspire moments of everyday happiness, so we created the innovative M&M'S Merry Movie Holiday Lounge to bring cheer and add a touch of M&M'S to the movie-watching comforts of home during the holidays, amid an otherwise stressful experience for many."

For those who can’t fly in or out of Dallas Love Field to experience this festive holiday treat, M&M’S has set up a special text line to hear holiday travel complaints. During the same time period (December 20-31), Americans can text “MMSHoliday” to 312-376-1835 with a brief message or picture that details their travel issues for the chance to win a daily e-gift card that can be used for an M&M pick-up anywhere across the country (while supplies last). The fine print of this creative promotion can be found here.

If you’re not big on popping M&M’S straight from the tube, pocket them for later—we’ve got a recipe for Monster Cookies that we hear Santa loves to find on his Christmas cookie platter.

Safe travels, y'all!
