Trans-Siberian Orchestra Announces Holiday Tour Dates

Trans-Siberian Orchestra guitarists Angus Clark (L) and Al Pitrelli.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra will be back this year! The heavy-metal-meets-theater-meets-laser-light-show production will kick off a tour in November that will see them visiting more than 60 cities in the United States and playing more than 100 shows.

In a 2020 interview with Metal Imperium, the group's guitarist Al Pitrelli speculated on what makes their performances so beloved by fans all over the world. "TSO is special because TSO is TSO. Just like Queen was Queen and the Beatles were the Beatles and Led Zeppelin was Led Zeppelin...TSO is TSO. It's a huge rock 'n' roll show with the rock theater element that has something in it for all ages."

Millions of fans certainly agree! Here's what you can look forward to this holiday season.

Will Trans-Siberian Orchestra go on tour this year?

Yes! The Trans-Siberian Orchestra will go on tour beginning in November 2023.

What is 'The Ghosts of Christmas Eve — the Best of TSO & More?'

The holiday tour will feature the group's biggest heavy metal hits. "I call them repeat offenders," TSO guitarist Al Pitrelli joked to the Associated Press.

This year's tour is a reference to the group's 1999 made-for-television film and record, "The Ghosts of Christmas Eve." As the AP reports, "The story follows a young girl who runs away from home on Christmas Eve; she’s alone, visions come to her, and eventually she makes her way back to her family at midnight, just in time for the Christmas holiday. Singers represent different characters, woven into a narrative by the late [TSO] founder Paul O’Neill."

To Pitrelli, the appeal of the performance is simple. "Everybody misses somebody, especially on Christmas."
