A live-action remake of How To Train Your Dragon is on the way.

Set to drop in 2025, the reimagining of Dreamwork’s beloved CGI series has already cast its main characters.

As confirmed by Variety, Mason Thames (The Black Phone) will play the lead role of Hiccup, a young viking who befriends a dragon.

Gerard Butler (300), who voices Viking chief and Hiccup’s father Stoick in the films, reprises his role. He’s joined by Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead) and Julian Dennison (Deadpool 2).

How to Train Your Dragon is currently filming. With two sequels in the animated franchise - How to Train Your Dragon 2 and How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World - this new adaptation might not be the last.

Hopefully they stick to tried and trusted techniques, unlike how True Detective: Night County triggered AI controversy.
