TRAILER: Avatar: The Last Airbender Shows Off Omashu City

Netflix has tweeted fresh footage of Avatar: The Last Airbender ahead of its imminent February 22 release.

Across 40 action-packed seconds, we see massive stone gates open to reveal a towering city, through which our protagonist Aang soars using a glider. The city appears to be Omashu.

It then cuts to a fight scene, where Aang dodges a boulder the size of a car.

Also crammed into the short trailer is a perilous minecart chase, a street battle with soldiers, and a guy who uses fiery chain whips to slice through stone.

In Avatar: The Last Airbender, goes the official synopsis, “a young boy known as the Avatar must master the four elemental powers to save a world at war — and fight a ruthless enemy bent on stopping him.”

Not everyone is excited about it, however, with Avatar: The Last Airbender in a sexism controversy recently.
