Tradition continues: Dover High School prom welcomes hundreds of students

DOVER – In what has become a generational tradition throughout Tuscarawas County High Schools, students were once again announced for prom this year during a walk-in, Saturday at Dover High School.

363 tickets were purchased, said prom advisers Corey Zickel and Brendan McKee.

The walk-in began promptly at 7 p.m., lasting about an 75 minutes as individuals, couples, and groups paraded up the sidewalk, through the commons area to be admired by onlookers, and into prom.

The theme for this year was Gatsby’s Garden Gala. Colors were black and gold.

Court attendees were Zane Connor, Micah Cooper, Declan Gray, Brady Hixson, Natalie Couts, Ava Herzig, Abigail Ice, Laura Weaver.

Declan Gray, and Ava Herzig were crowned king and queen.

Music services were provided by DJ Chelsea. Photography was provided by the team at Solid Rock Photos.

The school also hosted an after-prom special casino-themed night, in which students could play games and participate in the raffle, which offered up a wide variety of prizes, such as a PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, a 43 inch flat screen television, tickets to a Cincinnati Reds game, four Akron Rubber Ducks tickets, a pickle ball set, a gift basket care of Ulta Beauty, and game tickets to both the Cleveland Charge and Cleveland Cavaliers.
