‘Trading Secrets’ host Jason Tartick on building his post-‘Bachelorette’ career

Jason Tartick has all the secrets for playing the long game — and he wants to share them with everyone.

The host of the highly popular podcast Trading Secrets, who first came to fame as a contender on Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette and is now engaged to a former Bachelorette, Kaitlyn Bristowe, turned his post-show career into one more lucrative and fulfilling than his previous career in corporate finance. In addition to hosting his show, where he shares personal finance tips and advocates for more transparency around money through interviews with experts and celebrities, Jason has founded a talent management group, written a bestselling book and partnered with countless companies for on-brand collaborations.

In the latest episode of In The Know by Yahoo’s pop culture interview series We Should Talk, Jason opened up about his latest collaboration with Wyndham Rewards for its new Cubicle Caddie and reflected on the impressive platform he’s been able to build for himself in recent years. He also shared his thoughts on recent finance-adjacent pop culture happenings, explained his approach to getting transparent answers around money out of his celebrity podcast guests and much more.

“When I created the show and tried to figure out how to differentiate it in such a saturated space like podcasting, I was like, ‘Why did Call Her Daddy blow up? They pushed that curtain back from sex.’ So I’m like, ‘What is my sex? Because I’m certainly not talking about that.’ It’s money! From day one, I’ve always been curious about what things cost, what people make, how so they do it. It’s a natural curiosity. I can’t help it! Sometimes Kaitlyn will be like, ‘Stop!’ but I just can’t help it,” Jason told ITK. “The biggest thing I want people to learn is that there are a lot of big corporations out there that benefit from us not talking about money. They benefit and make profit from us thinking it’s a taboo. We need to step into it. We need to talk money with our loved ones, and we need to talk money with our partners. It’s the second reason why people are getting divorces, and it’s causing hardships in relationships. The more we talk about it, the more we learn, the more we know, the more we can better ourselves. Financial independence and freedom is a huge part of overall happiness.”
