Trader Joe's Recalled 3 Items In One Week—Here's What To Know

Trader Joe's has become a cherished grocery store chain across the United States. Between affordable produce, dips of all sorts and the most eclectic snack options you could possibly think of, Trader Joe's seemingly has it all. That's why their recent recall of three different products within the same week came as a shock to their loyal customers.

On July 25, 2023, the first recall notice in the sequence was issued and posted on their website for their Almond Windmill Cookies and Dark Chocolate Chunk and Almond Cookies.

The popular cookies were recalled due to them possibly containing rocks.

If that wasn't bad enough, just two days later, on July 27, the popular grocery store chain posted a recall notice for their Unexpected Broccoli Cheddar Soup. This time, their supplier notified them that the soup may be contaminated with insects.

In the FDA's official recall notice, it was stated that the frozen broccoli florets in the soup contained insects, although the specific type was not identified. And while it's certainly not what you want to find in your broccoli cheddar soup, no known adverse health effects have been reported to date.

Trader Joe's wrapped up the week with their third and final recall for their Fully Cooked Falafel; and just like the initial recall notice, the coveted frozen falafel was recalled from possible rock contamination.

All of the potentially affected products have been removed from shelves and discarded of, but as urged on their website, Trader Joe's has advised anyone that has purchased any of the recalled items to not eat them. Instead, discard the product immediately or return it to any Trader Joe’s location for a full refund.

Currently, it has not been reported as to how the contaminations happened or how the supplier was alerted of them.

Although disappointing, Trader Joe's remains diligent in notifying their customers quickly and effectively. They spread the news to their customers through in-store signs, on their website and through email alerts if concerning issues are brought up.

In a statement last week, Trader Joe's said, "We will never leave to chance the safety of the products we offer. We err on the side of caution and are proactive in addressing issues. We take action quickly, aggressively investigating potential problems and removing product from sale if there is any doubt about its safety or quality."

How to Know If Your Product Is Affected
