The company is forever coming out with new items—sometimes weekly—and many tend to become cult favs fast. There’s truly something for everyone on the shelves at Trader’s; it’s part of their allure. In a highly anticipated new item release this month, the company debuted their Mini (Almost) Everything Bagel Sandwich Crackers, to join the ranks of the company’s other “Everything But the Bagel” (EBTB) items, including kettle chips, smoked salmon and mixed nuts.

The Mini (Almost) Everything Bagel Sandwich Crackers are tiny, bagel-shaped (yes they have a tiny hole in the middle) crackers that taste like an everything bagel with a shelf-stable, cream cheese filling in the middle. They’re cute and highly poppable. You may be wondering the reason why they’re “almost” everything bagel crackers. It’s because of the absence of both sesame and caraway seeds, which are pretty standard ingredients in an everything bagel.

What is the difference between the Mini (Almost) Everything Bagel Sandwich Crackers and the EBTB Bite-Sized Crackers?
This isn’t the company’s first foray into EBTB cracker territory. First, there was the company’s Bite-Size Everything Crackers and then there was the rebrand into what they’re called now, the EBTB Seasoned Bite-Size Crackers. They’re a bit different, though. The bite-size crackers and their reincarnation that the company released prior to the sandwich crackers were flat, and square and included all the seasonings (including sesame and caraway seeds).
They’re still popular and have been for years, with Reddit users loving them so much, they’ve turned them into dinner with one commenter posting “Anyone else eat Bite Size Everything Crackers and Smoked Salmon Dip for dinner when they don’t want to cook?” What a genius idea.

What do the Mini (Almost) Everything Bagel Sandwich Crackers taste like?
Reddit users are torn. Some really love the flavor of these tiny treasures and some wish they were a bit more exciting. One Reddit user commented “Tried this today and I actually enjoyed it. Reminds me of sour cream and onion lays. Lol” and another said, “It’s just one of those snacks that the odor and smell lingers forever.”

They do indeed have the top flavors of onion, garlic and cream cheese. They smell like cream cheese and if you eat them slowly instead of inhaling them (easy to do), you can taste it too, so that was neat. I felt that they could have benefitted from the addition of a bit more filling since it kind of got lost in the cracker a bit.
And I seriously missed the sesame and caraway seeds—staples in an everything bagel. With only poppy seeds, garlic and onion, I could tell that it was an everything bagel flavor but I could also sense that something, indeed, was missing.
I also do not recommend twisting them apart and eating the cream-filling Oreo style. The cream cheese filling texture is a bit sandy on its own and the crackers without it become a tad sweet tasting. They also reminded me a lot of the butterfly-shaped Pepperidge Farm cracker, in both taste and texture. You know the one—it came in the trio pack and was always out with sliced cheddar at parties growing up. Not a bad thing, just not what I was expecting. I really wanted to love these little crackers, but the missing EBTB ingredients plus the cracker-to-filling ratio just didn’t do it for me in the end. I would eat them if they were around, but I wouldn’t be scrambling to buy them again.
