Trader Joe’s is more than just a store to us — it’s a way of life. You know that we were one of the first people to obsess over their new vegan mac and cheese; we’ve tried basically every product of theirs to ever win a Trader Joe’s Annual Customer Choice Award; when we’re feeling desperate, we’ve even been known to search panickedly for our favorite out-of-stock Trader Joe’s products on Amazon. Hey, a girl’s got to get her Everything but the Bagel seasoning somehow! But recently, we’ve been obsessing over a totally new Trader Joe’s category: health and beauty aids. Luckily, we tuned in to the official Trader Joe’s podcast this week and found out some exciting news. This spring, we’ll be able to shop for new Trader Joe’s watermelon face spray and face masks, getting the high-end beauty experience for way less. Our parched winter skin can’t wait!

Fruit extracts are super trendy in beauty products recently (and we’ve been on top of watermelon for years now — check out our DIY watermelon face toner recipe). This spring, TJ’s is releasing a watermelon face spray that’s basically a hydrating toner. According to the podcast, the Watermelon Face Spray “has both watermelon fruit extract, watermelon juice and watermelon seed oil and squalane and hyaluronic acid.” You could start seeing this product pop up in a store near you this June.

The next product sounds an awful lot like the super popular Korean beauty product Glow Recipe Watermelon Grow Sleeping Mask.

According to the pod, “We also have a Watermelon Overnight Face Mask, which is like a super-concentrated version of the gel moisturizer with watermelon extract and watermelon seed oil and you put it on your face and it absorbs in really quickly and you sleep on it overnight and wash your face in the morning. And it should be really moisturizing and you should wake up glowing.”

Watermelon isn’t the only fruit Trader Joe’s is featuring in their spring beauty products. You can also look for their new Strawberry Sugar body scrub.

“There’s sugar as an exfoliant, but there’s actual strawberry seeds in the formulation to use as an exfoliator.” You’ll have soft, smooth skin just in time for bathing suit season.

Another product we can’t wait for? They have a non-aerosol dry shampoo in the works, which should be available this year.

With their attention to trends, affordability, and the fact that all of their beauty products are cruelty-free, we’ve got to admit that we can barely wait for these new items to hit store shelves. Between climate change and it being an election year, our skin can use all of the help it can get!
