What would the holidays be without a little booze? Whether you tip a bit into your signature gravy, use some white wine to brine your turkey, or simply enjoy a glass of your favorite tipple, alcohol plays an important role in celebrating the season.

Aside from spirits (and we're not talking about the ghost of Christmas past), dessert takes center stage during the latter half of the year. There’s gingerbread cookies, black forest cake, chocolate-covered everything and so many goodies in between. What’s even better than enjoying sugar-laced seasonal delights is enjoying them with a little something extra, and Trader Joe’s just restocked a limited-edition treat that combines the best of the holidays into one delicious treat.

The quirky supermarket chain is no stranger to a mash-up and often offers hybrid delicacies of all sorts. From Pretzel Bread Pudding with Salted Caramel Sauce to Cinnamon Bun Inspired Kettle Popcorn, TJ’s knows a thing or two about combos. With all those great pairings, you might be wondering: what else can they possibly come up with? Of course, they’ve got an answer, and the retailer’s latest duo is a spirited box of Boozy Macarons perfect for your next festive gathering.

Each box contains 12 of the classic French pastries flavored with rum, French XO Brandy, and Cointreau. Sandwiched between each crispy, chewy cookie is a luscious layer of buttercream, and each treat is colored with natural fruit and vegetable dyes à la Trader Joe’s. The booze-soaked desserts are a great grown-up treat and you can easily pair them with cocktails that include their respective spirits.

While a cocktail can set you back $15 and up, you can grab a box (or two) of these delectable goodies for $5.99 and fans are stocking up. Dedicated TJ's account @traderjoesnew shared the dessert's return on Instagram and the post racked up over 17,000 likes.

“This [is] why I love me some TJ's,” commented one person. “Omg picking these up today!” said another.

Though most of the response has been positive, a few shoppers aren’t too happy about the addition of wheat into the traditionally gluten-free treat with one saying, “It’s so frustrating that these aren’t gluten free.”

Aside from the revelation that the dessert includes gluten, some fans just didn’t care for the taste and said they were “very heavy on the boozy flavor.” But, depending on your palate, that might not be a bad thing. And of course, we won’t judge if you choose to down more than one.

While enjoying one macaron (or the entire box) won’t be enough to get you pulled over, there is a max alcohol content of 2.6-percent, so please enjoy responsibly.
