Trader Joe’s is recalling its Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings produced by the food manufacturer CJ Foods Manufacturing Beaumont Corporation. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the recall affects over 61,000 pounds of these dumplings that may contain plastic from permanent markers.

The USDA states the recalled products include “6-oz. boxes with plastic trays containing six pieces of ‘TRADER JOE’S Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings’ with lot codes ‘03.07.25.C1-1’ and ‘03.07.25.C1-2’ printed on the side of the box.” There is also an establishment number “P-46009” that can be found inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The recalled products were produced on December 7, 2023, and were shipped to Trader Joe’s locations nationwide.

The recall came after consumers complained about finding pieces of hard plastic in the dumplings. Currently, there are no confirmed instances of injury.

Just last month, Trader Joe’s recalled its Chicken, Lentil & Caramelized Onion Pilaf due to possible foreign material contamination. These latest recalls from Trader Joe’s followed several from last year, including when the grocery chain recalled its Multigrain Crackers with Sunflower and Flax Seeds for possible foreign material.
