Trader Joe’s has become the grocery store of choice for many shoppers, thanks to reliably low prices, signature store-brand foods, and an endless variety of frozen meals. The store is constantly releasing new items that seem to fly off shelves almost as soon as they’re stocked. Whether you’re looking for a quick and easy dinner find or a fancy dessert that looks like it came out of a French patisserie, Trader Joe’s has you covered.

As we gear up for the start of summer with Memorial Day right around the corner, you’ll likely want to stock up on some of your faves. If you happen to forget that one ingredient for your seven-layer dip or end up hosting more guests than originally expected, can you count on Trader Joe’s for those last-minute needs?

Yes, Trader Joe’s will be open on Memorial Day with their regular store hours. (But you can always call your local store to confirm just in case.)

Trader Joe’s has no shortage of items for your backyard barbecue bash or picnic in the park. If your mixology skills aren’t up to par, grab one of their newest May finds: Everything-but-the-bartender classic lime margarita cans. If you’d rather make your own cocktail, stock up on some fresh peaches and this gourmet Sicilian lemon juice to make a big pitcher of sparkling spiked peach lemonade.

Planning on firing up the grill for the first time this year? Run to Trader Joe’s and get all the ingredients you need to make these tender grilled chicken kebabs or grilled shrimp skewers with chimichurri. For balance, pick up one of their many salad kits to add some freshness.

If standing in front of a hot grill isn’t your thing, you can snag a few of Trader Joe’s shortcuts to make mealtime a bit easier. Just combine a few ingredients together and you can have something super impressive with minimal effort, like these garlic naan flatbreads or these corn and black bean sheet pan nachos.

For dessert, see if you can get your hands on a few tangy mini lemon sheet cakes. (They’re known to sell out quickly, and at just $6 you can’t go wrong.) Or try their fan-favorite banana pudding ice cream. If you really want to show off, add their highly popular $3 Japanese soufflé cheesecakes to your cart and serve alongside fresh berries.

Whatever your Memorial Day needs are, Trader Joe’s has them. You just may want to shop early or plan ahead to beat out all the other people with the same idea.
