Trader Joe's best new grocery items from 2018

Trader Joe's is constantly releasing new and fun food products (hello, Mini Stroopwafel Ice Cream Sandwiches!). In 2018 alone, Trader Joe's launched over 120 new food items. Some standouts include the Birthday Cake Popcorn, Cauliflower Gnocci, Deep Dish Chocolate Chip Cookie, French Onion Soup Bites and Spicy Cheese Crunchies.

The Birthday Cake Popcorn is like poppable, crunchy cake. Popcorn is coated in a vanilla glaze and rolled in colorful confetti sprinkles. But the best part — Trader Joe's doesn't use any synthetic colors or artificial flavors to create this speciality treat.

Cauliflower Gnocci takes a classic Italian dumpling and makes it a little more nutritious and a little lower in carbs. While traditional gnocci is made with potatoes, eggs and flour, this version swaps the potatoes for cauliflower and leaves out the eggs. You can sautè them with a little olive oil to crisp them up and toss them with your favorite sauce for an easy and healthy meal.

The Deep Dish Chocolate Chip Cookie is a giant, melty, warm 16-ounce skillet cookie that ideally serves 10, but you can be the final judge on that. The cookie is filled with rich dark chocolate chunks and is best served with a scoop of ice cream on top.

Soup is a hard appetizer to serve at holiday parties, especially when the little ones are playing a game of tag with the dog. So, now you can serve it in bite-sized servings with Trader Joe's French Onion Soup Bites. They pack in caramelized onions, Swiss cheese and vegetable broth into a crispy, yet doughy wrapper.

Finally, Spicy Cheese Crunchies are Trader Joe's version of Flamin' Hot Cheetos. However, like most Trader Joe's products, they're made with zero synthetic dyes or artificial flavors — just real cheddar cheese and a blend of spices.
