Trade In Your Old Filson Gear, Get a Gift Card and a Chance to Win Big
There’s a chance some of you have Filson gear your great-grandparents bought. The 127-year-old Seattle outfitter built a reputation on durable outdoor goods designed to last a lifetime (and then some). And while some hand-me-down Filson gear may endure another generation or two, now you can trade in some old equipment for credit toward new items.
Today, Filson announced it is expanding its recently launched “Unfailing” resale marketplace to accept customer trade-ins. The program will allow customers to exchange their “perfectly functional” old Filson gear for a gift card. That gear will join the virtual aisles of Filson wares at the brand’s online Unfailing resale store, which went live last December.
And to sweeten the deal, from now until May 15, 2024, Filson will give away five custom Mackinaw Wool Cruiser jackets (valued at $495 each) for customers who participate in the trade-in experience, online or in-store. Filson Trade-In Gear
Filson’s Unfailing marketplace has tons of Filson gear with discounts up to nearly half off, with hundreds of dollars discounted from certain items. Before accepting customer trade-ins, the inventory included off-season and slightly damaged items.
All gear in the Unfailing store receives Filson’s lifetime guarantee.
“While they may be bruised, scarred, or pre-worn, these goods are made with the best raw materials for a lifetime of service,” the brand states on the Unfailing site.
If you have Filson gear you’d like to trade in, you can do so online with a mail-in service or in-store at select retail locations: San Francisco, Boston, Portland, Ore., Washington, D.C., and the Seattle and New York flagship stores.
How to Trade In Filson Gear
To be eligible for trade-in, items must be in “good condition and perfectly functional,” according to Filson. The brand asks customers to wash all products before trade-in and inspect items for damage, debris, discoloration, and/or belongings left in the pockets.
Filson will only accept products valued at $50 MSRP and not the following sub-categories of gear: care products, bandanas and scarves, socks, hats, knives and tools, patches, liners and hoods, suspenders, gloves, and collaborations.
If accepted, customers will receive a Filson gift card for an amount determined by the product they submitted.
Filson ‘Unfailing’ Trade-In Giveaway
Already have the gear to trade in? Do it now, and you could win one of five Mackinaw Wool Cruisers. Customers will receive an entry to win for every eligible item accepted in the Unfailing trade-in program (in-store or online) between now and May 15.
Winners will also get to customize their new Cruiser by choosing their own combination of materials, colors, and snaps — and will have their initials chain-stitched to complete the look.
