In case you missed the memo: puffy fashion is in. And who better to champion the new trend than Tracee Ellis Ross?

The Black-ish star recently headed out in New York City, where she proved the maxim "bigger is better" with an outfit made up of a maximalist's dream wardrobe.

First things first, Ross repped an emerald green iteration of Loewe's viral puffy bomber jacket, which has previously been seen on the likes of Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber, and Taylor Russell (though Bieber and Russell wore a black version). Underneath the statement outerwear, Ross wore a loose white T-shirt. She paired the top with ultra oversized black jeans, then further coordinated with black pointed toe wedges and a woven green handbag. As for her accessories, the actor upped the ante with chunky gold hoop earrings and a long gold chain necklace. Her beauty look consisted of a subtle dark pink lip, a slicked back high bun, and an ivory white manicure.

The so-called “puffification” of fashion has taken the runways by storm. The term, which was originally coined by content creator Tariro Makoni earlier this year, refers to the seeming sudden flurry of padded, cloudlike, and pillowed clothing and accessories.

"For inflated, pillow-like, and cartoonlike styles to be en vogue represents a shift," Makoni previously told BAZAAR.com. "Modernity is no longer exclusively classified by these sharp edges."

Ross is no stranger to this playful trend. She previously posed in voluminous balloon pants, also a Loewe creation, in an Instagram post shared back in 2020. She paired the experimental bottoms with a tailored blazer, black pumps, and bright red earrings.
