Tracee Ellis Ross Honors Mom Diana with New IG Post: ‘She is the Stuff of Which Entertainment Legends Are Made’

Tracee Ellis Ross may have starred in the movie Daddy's Little Girls, but she's all about her mama in her latest Instagram post. The 50-year-old actress shared a vintage clip to IG that was taken of her mother, Diana Ross, during an iconic performance she gave in Central Park back in 1983.

The Black-ish star showed her total admiration for her mother in the caption, for which she wrote, “There are a few moments in history that define a generation of music, popular culture & humanity. My mama @dianaross’s concert in @centralparknyc, 40 years ago today, is one of those moments [heart emoji]. She is the stuff of which entertainment legends are made.”

The unforgettable show saw Diana performing on the Great Lawn at Central Park in New York City as part of a benefit to build a children's park (which would later be named the Diana Ross Playground). About 30 minutes into the show, it started to rain, but Diana didn't stop until lightning forced her to.

In the comments section, fellow celebs showed their love for the musical legend, like Orange Is the New Black star Uzo Aduba, who wrote, “Icon. Iconic.” Meanwhile, other celebs said that they were actually present at the concert, like actress Vanessa Estelle Williams, who commented, “I was at the park Tracee!!! And the rain came and we stayed to ‘Reach out and touch somebody’s hand!’”

This new post is only the latest proof that Tracee loves giving shoutouts to her mother. Just this past March, the Girlfriends actress made a sweet tribute in honor of her mom's 79th birthday. In the caption, she wrote, “Happy birthday to my incredible otherworldly icon of a mom. I love you so so so so much.”

Talk about a doting daughter.
