The Tour Pro 2’s unique case earned it a spot among the best wireless earbuds we’ve tested. Stefan Vazharov, our senior technology editor, found the touchscreen convenient when using the earbuds with his MacBook and iPad. In addition to controlling audio playback, the screen shows the earbuds’ battery level and lets the user set alarms. It also supports customization via colorful graphics or an image of your choice.
While the case’s touchscreen is helpful, Vazharov did note that the accessory is bulkier than its rivals. That means it may not fit as comfortably in your pants pocket. Still, the touchscreen adds convenience — and there’s more to like about the earbuds, including the sound performance and noise cancelation.
“The Tour Pro 2 swiftly reduced the Midtown Manhattan traffic cacophony underneath my living room window to a barely audible hum,” Vazharov says in his review. “Its customizable Ambient Aware and TalkThru modes were also reliable for keeping me aware of my surroundings and making short conversations.”
The earbuds feature noise-sensing mics that can adjust the noise cancelation automatically. There are also microphones in each earbud that provide crystal clear phone and video calls. Meanwhile, Vazharov found the earbuds were comfortable to wear over extended sessions. Expect around 6 hours of use with adaptive noise cancelation or 10 hours with it turned off.
The Tour Pro 2 are a compelling alternative to similarly priced rivals like Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 with USB-C, with the touchscreen case a standout feature. At 20 percent off, JBL’s earbuds are even more enticing for those who want a product that provides a bit more functionality than the norm.
