Tory Kittles talks exclusively about his evolving relationship with Queen Latifah

In "Blowback," this week's episode of The Equalizer, a smuggler being detained by the CIA must be transferred quickly to a secure debriefing site. To ensure he arrives alive and unharmed, McCall (Queen Latifah) works with Carter Griffin (Brett Dalton) to transport him.

Meanwhile, Dante (Tory Kittles) deals with the possibility of his father being released from prison and Delilah (Laya DeLeon Hayes) looks elsewhere in her search for self-defense lessons.

When asked about the evolving relationship between Marcus Dante and Robyn McCall, Kittles told Parade.com, "Dante and Robyn have been playing cat and mouse with each other for a while now. He’s asked her out. She’s played coy. We’ve even seen the life he envisioned with her when he was at his most vulnerable. They’ve been getting closer and closer since the beginning of the series. And this week they get as close as they’ve ever been."

And what about his relationship with his father, how has that evolved? Kittles said, "Dante resents his father, but he also loves his father. He’s been carrying the weight of his father’s mistakes for a long time, and though he’s tried, he hasn’t been able to let go of these feelings. The possibility of his father getting out of prison has brought a lot of his old wounds to the forefront of his life. This is something he knows he has to deal with for the sake of his sons."

"Blowback" seems to be Kittles' favorite episode to date. "Maybe because Thanksgiving is right around the corner, but there’s something about the family being around the table that really strikes a chord. Though I was left with the question, Why didn’t Robyn invite Dante?" Kittles told Parade.com

Donal Logue (Gotham, Sons of Anarchy) and Malik Yoba (Cool Runnings, New York Undercover) guest star. Logue plays one of the CIA’s most decorated agents while Yoba plays the owner of a boxing gym in financial straits.

In the Parade.com exclusive clip below, Dante is going over schoolwork with his children when he gets an unexpected call.
