Tori Spelling is opening up about her past experience with a weight loss drug. The Beverly Hills 90210 alum shared Tuesday on her podcast misSPELLING that she used Mounjaro to lose weight after having her fifth child.

In case you’re not familiar with it, Mounjaro is the brand name for an injectable medicine used to help with blood sugar control in people with type 2 diabetes. Its active ingredient is tirzepatide, which is FDA-approved as a weight loss drug under the name Zepbound.

“I did Mounjaro and everyone admits it now,” the 50-year-old shared. Tori said that she was able to lose the weight she gained during her previous four pregnancies, but her weight loss journey was different after she had her fifth child, Beau, in 2017.

“I couldn’t lose the weight,” she said. “At my heaviest, I was 120 pounds my entire life. And after Beau, I was 160 pounds. I couldn’t lose the weight and the doctor was like, ‘Well, it’s an age thing.’” (Tori was 44 at the time.)

Tori said that, while she isn't a fan of exercise and doesn't like to drink water, she tried working out and doing intermittent fasting—but it didn’t influence her weight loss. “It just wasn’t working,” she said. “The weight wouldn’t come off.”

Tori said her doctor recommended that she take Mounjaro, as well as hormone therapy because she was approaching menopause. “She put me simultaneously with the hormones on Mounjaro,” she said. “I’m no longer on it but I did lose weight and I haven’t been on it since the end of January.”

Tori shared that she’s now “happy” with her weight. “I did go off of it because I had hit my ideal weight and I felt like I didn't want to get any thinner,” she said.

While Tori previously kept her Mounjaro use quiet, she says she’s fine talking about it now. “It’s a different time, so I don’t feel shamed saying that,” she said.
