Two days after it was reported that Grammy-winning singer Tori Kelly had been rushed to the hospital, her husband, retired basketball player André Murillo, is finally able to offer fans an update on the singer's condition.

"Tori is smiling again and feeling stronger," Murillo, 33, began in a statement shared via his Instagram Story on Wednesday afternoon.

Murillo explained that his wife of five years is "not fully out of the woods but we see the sun. Just waiting on a few more answers."

"Your love and kindness has been overwhelming," he continued in the July 26 upload. "Thank you so so much!"

As was previously reported, Kelly, 30, was hospitalized after passing out while at a dinner with friends in Los Angeles, California, on Sunday, July 23. During the incident, the American Idol alum's heart reportedly started beating very fast, eventually leading her to lose consciousness. TMZ sources claimed she was "out for a while."

At the time sources said she was receiving treatment for blood clots around her vital organs, they described the unfolding situation as "very serious."

Kelly rose to fame as a contestant on the ninth season of American Idol, where she was cut before placing in the top 24 singers. After this venture, Kelly self-produced and released her debut EP, Handmade Songs by Tori Kelly, in 2012.

Kelly signed with Capitol Records the following year and released another EP called Foreword, followed by her debut full album, Unbreakable Smile, in 2015. The singer-songwriter's stardom quickly rose, with Kelly earning her first Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 2016.

She later went on to win two Grammys for her second studio album, 2018's Hiding Place. Since then, she released two more full albums and her first Christmas album, A Tori Kelly Christmas, in 2020.

In March 2023, she signed with a new record label, Epic Records, and shortly after that, released the tune called "missin' u." The song is the lead single on Kelly's upcoming EP, tori, which is scheduled to be released on Friday, July 28.
