STEM/STEAM Summer Camps are great for learning tech skills.

Summer is approaching, students who love STEM/STEAM might be looking for places to learn more. We’ve compiled a list of some pretty cool programs you might want to look into!

  1. Girls Who Code

Girls Who Code offers two different summer programs: One is a 2-week immersion program or a 6-week “self-paced” experience. Students will learn through real hands-on experience including projects in art, storytelling, robotics, video games, apps and more. This will also help you start to build your network ahead of a potential career in STEM or STEAM by meeting professionals in the field.

  1. GSTEM

GSTEM is a summer program to help those who have been historically underrepresented in STEM/STEAM - especially girls and minorities according to the website. The program, run by NYU, is available to high school students, each one will take part in an intensive 5-week research project, weekly field trips and introduction to women and others in the field who will share their experiences, struggles and successes.

  1. You GO Girl!

You GO Girl! is a program for those heading into the 9th Grade who like science but are still not sure what it’s all about! Participants will attend science and engineering activities and high school prep classes on the MIT Campus. Some of the activities include building motorized LEGO cars, strobe-light technology and understanding the relationships between genes and traits.

  1. Girlstart

Girlstart Summer Camp is available to those entering 4-th through 8th grades. According to the site, the week-long program will give participants hands-on STEM activities, relevant technology, and team building.

  1. SheTech

SheTech Summer Internship Exploration program is available for high school students during the summer months. Of the course of the summer there are in-person and virtual session to attend where you will engage with female professionals to get a sense of what it’s like to work in a STEM/STEAM career, brainstorm to come up with ideas to solve tech problems and understand the impact one can make from a career in STEM.
