1. MangoMania Tropical Fruit Fair on Pine Island

The annual festival celebrates Pine Island’s mango season with games, contests, live music, vendors, kids activities, a free mango-tasting table, educational seminars and lots of food and drinks featuring mangoes and tropical fruit. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 15. $5 (free for ages 9 and younger). 2. Gutfeld Live! at Suncoast Arena

3. Southwest Florida Symphony film series opens with 'Tár'

Southwest Florida Symphony kicks off a new film series at Bell Tower with the Cate Blanchett drama “Tar.” Blanchett plays a superstar conductor facing accusations of misconduct. 6 p.m. Friday, July 14. $20. Fort Myers’ Florida Repertory Theatre world-premiered this original play in 2021, and now it’s back for a new run in Bonita Springs. Southwest Florida students did research and interviews exploring the topic of school shootings. Then Broadway playwright Eric Coble ("Refugee") crafted that material into a play designed to inspire people and start a conversation about the future. Kody C. Jones came up with the show’s concept and directed the world premiere at Florida Rep. He returns to direct this new production. 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday, July 21-23. $20-$25 ($10 for students). Last chance to see this exhibit of work by 92-year-old Southwest Florida artist Joan Sonnenberg. Her paintings depict mundane, decaying objects; wall graffiti; street people and more.
