These Are the Top 3 Spring Trends According to Nordstrom

All you’ve been wearing for weeks now is some combination of jeans and a sweater on repeat. Oh, and don’t forget the puffer coat to top it all off. Starting to feel like it’s time to shake things up? We’re with you. To find out exactly which styles are best to invest in for 2019, we asked Nordstrom’s fashion director Shannon Schafer. Here are the top three trends she predicts are about to be everywhere.

Desert Beauty

Easy, breezy dresses, jumpsuits and trousers are (thankfully) reigning supreme as the temperatures begin to rise. According to Schafer, "draping, wrapping, ties, and knots achieve the soft, sophisticated [version of this] look." Think safari greens, straw bags and tan footwear (particularly booties) for this comfortable, chic trend.

Shop the trend: Halogen hat ($39); Caslon pants ($59); Lira dress ($60); Nordstrom bag ($69); Topshop dress ($75); Madewell pants ($88); Heartloom dress ($119); Louise et Cie heels ($129); Vince Camuto boots ($150); Sam Edelman boots ($180); Danse Lente bag ($430); Apiece Apart dress ($495)

Retro Glam

Be on the look out for vintage ‘60s silhouettes made from luxurious fabrics (like silk and tulle) in candy-colored pastels and hot neon hues. But to make sure these retro pieces look more contemporary than costume-y, pair your new mod minidress with sporty sneakers, for example.

Shop the trend: Something Navy scarf ($35); Baublebar earrings ($38); Leith skirt ($55); Steve Madden sneakers ($80); Adam Selman x Le Specs sunglasses ($119); Topshop blazer ($125); Caara dress ($159); Ted Baker dress ($279); Equipment pants ($395); Rejina Pyo skirt ($690); Prada heels ($790); Saks Potts jacket ($1,175)

Hacked Classics

"Be prepared to suit up!” says Schafer. The 2019 version of the office staple “feels freshest with looser layers and softer silhouettes. Don’t be surprised to see short suits. Waist emphasis and skirt options are also emerging." Not really your thing? Split the two halves and wear them with asymmetrical shirtdresses, edgy pearls, cardigans with oversize tortoise buttons and ruffled shirting—whatever makes the trend feel more you.

Shop the trend: Topshop bag ($48); Nordstrom earrings ($59); Something Navy top ($75); J.Crew blouse ($90); Topshop blazer ($125); Tory Burch earrings ($138); Cecelia New York snadals ($210); Jeffrey Campbell boots ($215); Staud bag ($225); Self-Portrait skirt ($300); Tibi sweater ($350); Cinq a Sept pants ($395); JI OH skirt ($618)
