  • Tony Okungbowa, the former DJ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, released a statement about the allegations about the production being a “toxic work environment.”

  • Tony worked with the show from 2003 to 2006 and 2007 to 2013.

  • Stephen “tWitch” Boss is Ellen’s current DJ.

Ellen DeGeneres’s current DJ, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, recently broke his silence regarding the many allegations made against The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Although tWitch said, “There’s been love and there will continue to be love,” Tony Okungbowa, the DJ who came before tWitch, felt otherwise.

In a recent Instagram post, Tony opened up about his time on Ellen’s show and took the opportunity to stand in solidarity with her employees who came forward about alleged instances of racism, sexism, sexual misconduct, homophobia, and bullying. He wrote:

“Hey guys, I hope you are all keeping safe out there during these trying times. I have been getting calls asking me about The Ellen DeGeneres Show and I would like to address the time I spent there. I was on-air talent from 2003 to 2006 and from 2007 to 2013. While I am grateful for the opportunity it afforded me, I did experience and feel the toxicity of the environment and I stand with my former colleagues in their quest to create a healthier and more inclusive workplace as the show moves forward.”

The Ellen Show is currently under an internal investigation in which a third party will “interview current and former staffers about their experiences on-set.” When Ellen broke her silence, she referenced the probe and added, “As we’ve grown exponentially, I’ve not been able to stay on top of everything and relied on others to do their jobs as they knew I’d want them done. Clearly some didn’t. That will now change and I’m committed to ensuring this does not happen again.”
