On the night of March 7, President Joe Biden is set to deliver his State of the Union address—the last of his current presidential term—and he reached out to some past presidents for a little bit of advice.
In a fun yet poignant video released by the President, five well-known actors who have portrayed presidents throughout their filmography came together for a roundtable of sorts to share what they know about the important role from their time playing it on screen.
This included Morgan Freeman, who played President Tom Beck in 1998's Deep Impact; Tony Goldwyn, who portrayed President Fitzgerald Grant III in Scandal; Geena Davis, who was President Mackenzie Allen in the 2005 TV series Commander in Chief; Michael Douglas, or President Andrew Shepherd in 1995's The American President; and Bill Pullman, who played President Thomas J. Whitmore in Independence Day.
They all had some sound advice, such as Freeman who said, "Hope is the strongest force we have in this country," and Douglas' statement that "Love and compassion as a leader are strengths," telling Biden to "let that shine through in your speech."

The President captioned the clip, "You may’ve heard I’ve got a big speech coming up. So, I thought I would hear from some folks who have done the job before – sort of."
Many enjoyed the charming video, with a fan writing, "Great nostalgia of some of the great actors who played President on TV and in movies," while another called the clip "absolutely brilliant." Others shared fictional presidents they wished had made a visit to speak with Biden, including Michael Sheen's President Jed Bartlet of The West Wing and Julia Louis-Dreyfus' President Selina Meyer from Veep.
Biden will give his State of the Union address at 9 p.m. EST on Thursday, March 7, with the expected politicians and a variety of other guests attending.
