Leave it to model and body positivity activist Ashley Graham to inspire a social media movement. On August 14, Graham announced she and her husband Justin Ervin were pregnant with their first child in an adorable Instagram video. Shortly after, she posted the naked selfie that would shake the internet. Graham captioned the photo, “same same but a little different.”

Since then, women all over Instagram have been recreating Graham’s photo, posting naked selfies, both pregnant and not. All of them, inspired by Graham, are opening up about their body insecurities, pregnancy journeys, and everyday struggles. Graham has been sharing their posts on her Instagram stories. For most, the reality of eating disorder recovery is weight gain, it is those changes that we used to fear. For me, weight gain, stretch marks, cellulite, rolls, & dimples are all signs of strength, survival, & recovery. They use to be all the things I feared happening to my body. Today they are a celebration! Just like @ashleygraham is celebrating the little one growing inside of her. Whether you struggle/struggled with an eating disorder or not, I encourage you to celebrate the changes happening with your body. They are a sign of being alive, they are a sign of growth, they are a sign of survival, they are a sign of BEAUTY!

NORMALIZE NORMAL BODIES!!!! @ashleygraham made me do it🙌🏼 I use to fantasize about being that “one mom who got her perfect bod” back after birthing twins. Yeah.... to say the least I blossomed into an entirely different woman. I have stretch marks, I have cellulite, I have stubble under my arms, I have uneven skin tones all over my body. Stop comparing YOUR body to others, STOP thinking because she has a flat stomach and no stretch marks she’s more beautiful. Stop. YOU are YOU and that’s your superpower. Love every inch of YOU.
