Tommy DeVito's Viral Agent Says He's 'Disappointed' After Peyton Manning Calls Him 'Slimy'

Sean Stellato, the agent of New York Giants QB Tommy DeVito who went viral last weekend, has responded to Peyton Manning calling him “slimy.” Stellato gained instant internet fame when he was spotted next to DeVito on the sidelines during Monday’s game, clad in a pinstripe suit and a matching black fedora.

Later in the game, cameras found Stellato sharing a celebratory kiss in the stands with DeVito’s father.

Manning was hardly the only person to razz Stellato for his outfit and behavior, but he may have been the most prominent. On his Manningcast Monday evening, the former Broncos QB reported that, based on “intel from my boys,” that Stellato’s college nickname was “Slimy.” Manning said the moniker was “perfect” considering Stellato’s appearance and demeanor, noting that he “looked like Johnny Fontane from The Godfather.”

Incensed, Stellato fired back at Manning during an interview with New England Sports Network on Wednesday. “To be honest with you, I personally was disappointed in Peyton,” he told the outlet. “This is someone who has done so much for the game, and he was obviously a runner-up to (Tom) Brady in every category.”

Stellato “thought it was disappointing” that Manning would issue such a harsh rebuke having only met him once in passing. “That’s not how I operate,” the agent explained. “I’m very curious, not judgmental. But look it, as a player, as an agent I let my results speak for themselves,” Stellato reasoned.

He emphatically denied that his nickname had ever been Slimy. “I don’t know where that even came from,” Stellato said, before immediately explaining its derivation. “A lot of my college buddies were like, ‘You were so slimy on the field no one could touch you.’”

Even without Manning’s support, it's a great time for Stellano. In addition to his newfound viral fame, Stellato watched in real-time as DeVito took charge of a late-game run that led to a nail-biting 24–22 defeat of the Green Bay Packers.
