Mammoth Mountain, California, is still firing with all-time summer skiing conditions.

Watch as pro freestyle skier duo Tom Wallisch and Jossi Wells throw down in Mammoth's top-notch terrain park.

It's wild that these guys are still skiing at such a high level.

They're not particularly old -- both are in their mid-30s -- but I'm 25, and I grew up watching ski movies featuring Tom and Jossi. If you asked 13-year-old me if I thought I'd still be watching Tom and Jossi ski at 25, I'd probably think you were lying.

Or, in the innocence of my youth, I might believe you wholeheartedly, not yet aware that the passage of time affects everyone, even my favorite pro skiers.

See, freestyle skiing, unlike, say, golf, isn't a sport that's particularly conducive to longevity. It batters your body, and for many, the knee injuries and back pain become too much as 30 rolls around.

Those who bow out of being professional freestylers go in multiple directions. Some stay involved in skiing, becoming filmers or event announcers, whereas others do a complete 180 and get into something like real estate.

But Tom and Jossi, both masters at their craft, are still getting out there on the slopes and doing their thing which is wonderful to see.

I think now's an excellent time to co-opt and remix a classic quote from skateboarding legend Jay Adams:

"You didn't quit (skateboarding) skiing because you got old, you got old because you quit (skateboarding) skiing."

To wrap this up, I'm going to leave you with one of my favorite freeskiing moments featuring Jossi Wells: the legendary "zero spin" run from the Sochi Winter Olympics.
