Tom Van Steenbergen Hits Idyllic Chilean Freeride Paradise

Chile has been the hot spot for North American freeriders this winter. All of a sudden, everyone was flocking to a little corner of the Atacama desert to escape the global north's generally unsavory winter.

The main spot is called RocaPark and as you will see in Tom Van Steenbergen's particularly dreamy clip, it is about as close to freeride perfection as it gets.

This spot in Chile does not seem like it is going to fade away any time soon, and frankly, it was only a matter of time before a South American destination rose to prominence on the global riding stage.

The region has been notoriously under-reported on and underappreciated despite the burgeoning urban riding that began popping off down there over 15 years ago. In time, I think the hidden mountain biking treasures of South and Central America will become more prominent in the modern MTB lexicon.
