It seems that Spider-Man’s favorite flavor is Root Beer.

On Wednesday, actor Tom Holland—known for his turn as Marvel’s web-headed wall-crawler—appeared at a SAG-AFTRA event wearing a Rolex GMT-Master II watch nicknamed after the soda. He paired the piece with a forest green sweater polo, blue jeans, and white sneakers to talk about his Apple TV+ series The Crowded Room. The show, set in the summer of 1979, is a psychological thriller based on a true crime, and Holland’s casual look was meant to reflect his character’s dressed-down look. (Rolex not included.)

The timepiece’s 40 mm case is crafted from Oystersteel and Everose gold, and is topped by the series’s signature bi-directional 24-hour graduated bezel. The latter includes a two-toned black and brown Cerachrom insert, split to help you identify when the sun is up or down. Beneath sapphire crystal, the contrast between the black dial and sharp white hands and indexes allows for high legibility.

Beneath the surface, the watch is powered by Rolex’s house-made 3285 calibre. The movement with a GMT function is equipped with bidirectional self-winding via a perpetual rotor. It runs at a frequency of 28,800 vph which provides the Spider-Man No Way Home lead with a 70-hour power reserve, and a water resistance of up to 330 feet. While there’s no openwork caseback for him to view the movement, the watch’s bracelet makes up for it. Like the case, it’s fashioned from Everose Rolesor, a combination of Oystersteel and Everose gold. Three-piece solid links add to its character, and it secures with a folding Oysterlock safety clasp.

Earlier this month, comedian and actor Kumail Nanjiani rocked the crowd at The Ice House Comedy Club in Pasadena California wearing an almost similar Rolex GMT Master “Root Beer” watch. Also fronting a two-tone bezel, the stainless-steel model from the early 1980s has a second nickname, dubbed the “Eye of the Tiger,” that alludes to its resemblance to the semi-precious stone. Nanjiani’s watch, unlike Holland’,s is no longer produced. But you can try to cop the GMT-Master II Mr. Zendaya wore this week. All you need is a friendly authorized dealer—and $16,150.
