Tom Hardy recently took to Instagram to reveal that Venom 3 has restarted its production. Last week, Hardy gave fans a look on set with a black and white photo and a caption to thank the teams behind the latest installment in the trilogy about the alien symbiote that exists within the same universe as Spider-Man.

He wrote on Instagram, "Thankfully we are back to shooting; and I want to take a moment just to thank all the teams thus far on the ride from V1 to here all our fantastic cast and crew- good friends and family – we've come a long way." He shouted out the director Kelly Marcel, who penned the first two films and is also a writing the third film, " I want to mention very briefly how proud of my Director, writing partner and dear friend Kelly Marcel I am. watching you taking the helm on this one fills me with pride, it is an honour. Trust, your gut, your instincts are always spot on."

Due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, many films had to delay its production. On the same day that the strike ended, Sony Pictures pushed back the release date of Venom 3 for a few months. Originally set to release in the summer of 2024, now it will be premiering worldwide on November 8, 2024. The third sequel follows back-to-back box office successes for the franchise. In 2018, the first film Venom garnered $856 million USD and the second in 2021, Venom: Let There Be Carnage recorded $502 million USD. Hardy is slated to return as journalist Eddie Brock and parasite Venom.
