Actor Tom Hardy must have gotten the memo that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle don't want their friends speaking with the media.

In a new profile in Esquire, Hardy was tight-lipped about his relationship with the Prince. Per writer Eric Sullivan, all the Fonzo and Venom actor would say about how he received an invitation to the royal wedding earlier this year was that "it's deeply private," adding only that "Harry is a f*cking legend."

Hardy has always been a man of few words when it comes to his friend Prince Harry.

On the morning after the wedding, he posted a photo of Harry and Meghan on their carriage ride with the caption, "Boss 💯💥🔥🦅♠️👌🇬🇧🌅❤️🌠😇🦄." (Yes, he really did put the unicorn in there.)

But that one line couldn't contain all of his emotions. He then added two more comments, "Congratulations 💯🌅💯" and "🇬🇧🌠😇."

It's unclear where exactly Hardy and Harry met or how they became close friends-the actor has been an ambassador for the Prince's Trust, a charitable organization founded by Prince Charles, for eight years at this point-but he appears to be part of the royal inner-circle, a status that requires discretion.

“They both expect a code of silence. If you talk to the press you’re out,” a source told royal reporter Katie Nicholl in a recent article for Vanity Fair. “Harry didn’t used to care that much about what was written (in the press), he just said it was a load of shite, but he’s very protective of Meghan and defensive these days.”
