Tom Hanks Photobombs a Wedding, and the Bride’s Reaction Is Adorable

Tom Hanks was out enjoying a sunny day in New York’s Central Park when he happened upon a frequent sight: a bride and groom getting their pictures taken. Then, because he is Tom Hanks, he did what few of us would dare to and joined their shoot for a minute. The surprised look on their faces in the photos posted by photographer Meg Miller is pretty priceless.

Now the Sully star can count himself among the many celebs who’ve worked their way into weddings of complete strangers. From Steven Tyler to LeBron James, stars sometimes can’t help but want to steal just a tiny bit of the newlyweds’ spotlight — and make the couple’s day even more crazy-special. German couple Verena and Michael were having their portrait taken in the middle of a crosswalk on 42nd St. in New York City in 2013, when Zach Braff walked by and smiled for the camera behind the couple, who still only had eyes for each other. It wasn’t until photographer Sascha Reinking was editing his pics that he noticed the photobomb and tweeted it to Braff. “Well played,” Reinking wrote.

A superstar shows up in a leopard print

No, Serena Williams isn’t roaming country clubs and hotel ballrooms in her one-piece. A couple getting married in 2015 on a beach in Miami, however, was lucky enough to get her to pose in her bathing suit for some pics.

One couple ran into John Travolta in Georgia on the day before their wedding in 2013 and (probably jokingly) invited him to their celebration, and then he actually showed up!

Earlier this summer, Taylor Swift was moved by a letter from Ali Singer about how her brother got married in their dying mother’s hospital room, and mother and son danced to “Blank Space.” So she decided to surprise Max Singer and Kenya Smith at their more formal wedding and performed the song for them. A famous band performs and shoots a video

When Maroon 5 hired Wedding Crashers director David Dobkin to shoot the video for “Sugar” in 2015, the band members agreed to revisit Dobkin’s success. They contacted a number of grooms in the L.A. area and arranged to surprise everyone (including the brides) at the reception. Not a bad wedding band! It was later revealed that some of the weddings in the video were staged, but at others, guests and brides were genuinely surprised and starstruck.

The celebrity is your mom’s favorite rapper

According to ABC News it was, in fact, groom Joe Scheller’s mother, Mary Rose Frank, who persuaded his wedding photographer to approach Snoop Dogg’s entourage at the Chicago Hard Rock Hotel, saying she was his biggest fan. Snoop met up with Scheller and his bride, Neesha Ghadiali, in the hotel bar and posed for some photos with them. No word on whether Frank got to discuss the finer points of gin and juice with him.
