Tom Hanks & Meryl Streep Reenact Each Other's Most Famous Roles in Hilarious New Video

Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep are two of the most versatile actors in Hollywood. But are they capable of playing...each other’s roles?

Hanks and Streep stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show today to promote their upcoming film The Post, but the daytime host had other plans for the Hollywood actors. DeGeneres kicked things off by asking Streep to name her favorite roles played by Hanks and vice versa. The host then challenged them to reenact each other’s famous roles, and hilarity ensued.

Although Streep’s Forrest Gump accent and Hanks’s monotone Miranda Priestly impression deserve honorable mentions, the real fun begins at the two-minute-and-30-seconds mark when DeGeneres breaks out the props.

In the clip, Streep dons a cowboy hat as she channels Woody and reads lines from Toy Story. But Hanks is quick to one-up her performance with an elegant reading from The Iron Lady while wearing an epic—wait for it—Margaret Thatcher wig.

Now that, ladies and gentlemen, is acting.
