Paramount Pictures on Monday dropped off the first official teaser for Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One, starring Tom Cruise.

Dead Reckoning will arrive as the seventh installment in the decades-spanning spy thriller franchise, which sees Cruise play a special agent from the Impossible Missions Force named Ethan Hunt. The teaser confirms the return of several Mission: Impossible veterans, including Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson and Vanessa Kirby. Additionally, the trailer reveals that Henry Czerny will reprise his role as IMF director Eugene Kittridge from the original 1996 Mission: Impossible film.

“Your days of fighting for the so-called ‘Greater Good’ are over,” Czerny tells Cruise in the preview. “This is our chance to control the truth. The concepts of right and wrong, for everyone for centuries to come. You’re fighting to save an ideal that doesn’t exist. It never did. You need to pick a side.”

Dead Reckoning Part One, which is written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, will receive a Part Two in 2024, marking Cruise's final appearance as Ethan Hunt. Part One is produced by Cruise, McQuarrie, J.J. Abrams, David Ellison and Jake Meyers.

Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One will be released in theaters on July 14, 2023. Watch the official teaser above.
