A true Tom Brady grail is heading to the auction block this fall.

The jersey the five-time Super Bowl MVP donned for the final game of his 23-season career will headline RM Sotheby’s Las Vegas sale on November 17. The former Tampa Bay Buccaneer wore the jersey as he and his team faced off against the Dallas Cowboys in Florida on January 16, 2023. The star quarterback threw for a record 351 passing yards and scored two touchdowns during the NFC Wildcard Playoff game at Raymond James Stadium. Although the Bucs lost 31 to 16, the garment represents a key moment in Brady’s legendary NFL career.

The size 44 top features his famous number 12 and captain’s patch, as well as grass stains and field marks from the match. The auction house estimates it could fetch between $1.5 million and $2.5 million, meaning it could become the most expensive football jersey ever sold. (The record is currently held by a Joe Montana jersey that hammered down for $1.2 million at Goldin earlier this year.)

Before he was a Buccaneer, Brady notched 20 years with the New England Patriots. He has established himself as a force in football over the past two decades, with his leadership abilities and inherent competitiveness. He currently holds no less than 17 NFL records. In early 2023, he announced his retirement via social media. “I’ll get to the point right away… I’m retiring. For good,” Brady shared on Instagram.

The athlete is still keeping plenty busy, though. He is involved in at least five entrepreneurial pursuits, including the Brady clothing line and an NFT platform called Autograph. He has also become quite the watch collector.

In addition to Brady’s jersey, the Las Vegas auction will also include F1 racer Lewis Hamilton’s 2013 Mercedes-Benz F1 W04. The car is expected to sell for between $10 million and $15 million. Mark your calendars for November 17, folks.
