How Tom Brady Is Re-Entering the Sports World After Retirement

We knew he couldn't stay away for long.

Tom Brady might be done playing football, but he's not quite ready to completely ditch the world of sports just yet.

In fact, Brady will be dabbling in a whole new sport, the football G.O.A.T. announced this week, over a month after confirming his retirement (for real this time).

The 45-year-old retiree took to Instagram on Thursday, March 23 to reveal his next venture in the sports world: an ownership interest in the WNBA's Las Vegas Aces.

"I got really special news to share today," the former athlete told his fans in the IG video. "I'm excited to announce I'm gonna become part of the Las Vegas Aces organization. It was a matter of time before I was back in the building with some of the greatest athletes in the world."

He went on to explain his personal connection to the franchise, stating, "I grew up with three older sisters. They were all incredible athletes in their own right. They were role models to me. It's where my love of women's sports began. I tagged along—I was the annoying little brother—to all their games. And they were the best athletes in our house, and they're still a great inspiration to me."

The seven-time Super Bowl Champion was first introduced to the Aces in May 2022, where he witnessed the team win over the Connecticut Sun. According to the Aces' official NBA website, Brady knew he wanted to be part of the organization after seeing the level of athleticism and the passion of the fan base.

Brady, a father to 10-year-old daughter Vivian with ex-wife Gisele Bündchen, continued in his Instagram video, "I admire all the work the Aces players and staff, and what the WNBA continues to do to grow the sport and to empower the future generations of female athletes, one I have in my own family. And I'm ready to contribute in any way possible as a member of such a great organization. What an honor."

In addition to Vivian, the former New England Patriots player is also a dad to his and Bündchen's 13-year-old son Benjamin, as well as 15-year-old son Jack, whom he shares with ex Bridget Moynahan.

"I can't wait to watch these amazing talented players bring another championship to Las Vegas," Brady concluded. "LFG!"
