Todrick Hall, Taylor Swift’s BFF, revealed why he didn’t approve of one of Taylor’s exes
It’s tough when your best friend dates someone you’re just not into. But luckily in this case, it’s all in the past. Todrick Hall didn’t like one of Taylor Swift’s exes for a pretty interesting reason — she hunched whenever she talked about him.
Hall, who didn’t drop names, talked about it on The Kid Kraddick Morning Show. He said that Swift dated this person last year, and possibly made her lose her confidence — or at the very least, her good posture.
Hall and Swift started hanging out in 2015 after Hall made a mash-up of her hit songs on YouTube. Swift even invited him to her family’s Thanksgiving last year, meaning these two have each other’s back. Hall first became popular on American Idol, which helped jumpstart his career in music, television, and even Broadway — in March of this year, he wrapped up his role as Lola in the Broadway musical Kinky Boots. And yes — Swift was able to catch a performance and cheer him on.
Their genuine connection means that Hall knows Swift pretty well — and we know that Hall only wants the best for his friend. That’s why we’re glad he let Swift know how he felt about this particular ex.
“There was a time last year — I don’t know if I’m supposed to say anything — she was dating someone,” he said. “I’d actually never met this person, but I could I could just tell every time I would talk to her, she would hunch over.”
But Hall took it one step further, and illustrated his feelings.
“I sent her this picture of her as Quasimodo that I edited…because I was like, ‘You cannot turn into Quasimodo for this guy. Every time you say his name, you hunch over.'”
Of course, the story has a happy ending. The relationship ended, and Swift moved on and is in a happier place. She’s currently dating actor Joe Alwyn.
“She’s so happy,” Hall confirmed. “Standing up completely straight and so tall and so confident. I just love it.”
