Toddler Sassily Corrects Deaf Dad in ASL While Learning Where Milk Comes From

Sass starts young!

The hearing daughter of a Deaf man flipped her own learning opportunity on its head in a new viral TikTok from @oursignedworld, in which she became frustrated with what she perceived to be his incorrect signing.

In the video, captioned, "She was right… 😅😂," the toddler's deaf dad used text overlays and voice speech to explain why his daughter "yelled" at him in what turned out to be a simple misunderstanding but seemed to be an educational opportunity for him.

"My daughter yells at me, her deaf dad," the voiceover said as the video began, showing the two crouched next to a cow cutout with functional udders that release water instead of milk.

Dad took the opportunity to explain to the little girl that this is where milk comes from, using American Sign Language to explain that the udders of the cow release milk when squeezed. He signed "milk" several times and milked the udders to show the water coming out.

After a few brief moments of stunned confusion, the girl turned to her father and yelled, "No, it's water!" before sassily signing "water" back at her father.

"Yes, water, it's fake," he confirmed before the video cut out.

Viewers couldn't get enough of the hysterical interaction, drawing special attention to her sassy attitude and frustration with her father's insistence that the water was milk.

"she said you ain't bout to play me just cause you can't hear, that is WATER 🤣," one commenter laughed.

"she said sir i KNOW you're not blind," said another.

"it looked like she signed water with sass too 😂," another noticed.

"Yeah 😂😂😂😂," the family responded to the latter, confirming that they're well aware of the little girl's big personality.

One thing's for sure: she won't stand for gaslighting or inadequate lesson plans!
