Sunglasses may be a yearlong essential, but let's be real here: They just hit different when summer kicks into gear. So when a new pair arrives just in time for the unofficial start of the sunniest season (can you still see Memorial Day Weekend retreating in the rearview?), it's a particularly welcome development. And if those shades also happen to come courtesy of a collab between iconic eyewear brand Moscot and designer Todd Snyder, well, all the better.

Enter the Nomad, a new frame design available now in four colors and created as part of Snyder's tenth anniversary celebration, which really ramps up come fall but begins with this teaser. "I'm really excited to launch this collaboration with Moscot," Snyder says. "Going into our 10-year anniversary, I wanted to reconnect with some of my favorite brands that I’ve worked with throughout the last decade and Moscot is definitely one of them. The Zilch is my go-to style, so it was a no-brainer on which silhouette to start from in designing the Nomad."

The biggest shift from inspiration to final execution is the bridge, which Snyder beefed up and squared off, taking the mid-century vibe of the Zilch and bringing it all the way into 2021. It's not the hugest thing in the world—only a few millimeters of acetate, all told—but it's all about the details with this sort of thing. The overall effect is sportier, more "historically literate modernist" than "hey, are those vintage?" Just the sort of thing to take you into a brighter (sorry, sorry) future.
