'Today' Star Hoda Kotb Loses It Over Savannah Gurthie's Epic Work-From-Home Mic Fail

From Good Housekeeping

  • Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie dropped her mic while on air during Thursday's show.

  • Hoda Kotb couldn't help but erupt in laughter after Savannah explained what went wrong.

  • Savannah isn't the only TV star to struggle with at-home production equipment.

Savannah Guthrie knows all too well that working from home can be a struggle.

During Thursday's Today show, the NBC co-anchor's microphone clipped on the top of her blouse suddenly fell down her shirt while she was still on the air. Reacting quickly, a frantic Savannah stuck her hand down her shirt in search of it as her co-stars Hoda Kotb and Craig Melvin watched and sat quietly.

Later on in the show, Savannah clarified to Today viewers — and her amused co-stars Craig, Hoda, and Al Roker — what had happened.

"Right before we came on, my mic ... dropped down my shirt and then I knew I was supposed to read the intro, and so I just made a decision to reach out and get it," Savannah recalled. Hearing the story, Hoda couldn't help but throw her head back in laughter.

"I'm sorry, but that timing was perfect," Hoda said in between giggles. "I see a meme in your future."

Of course, Savannah isn't the only TV host who has experienced technical hiccups while working remotely. Just last week, Joy Behar of ABC's The View also had an "oops!" moment when she accidentally dropped her camera right before the show was about to start. Thankfully, the longtime talk show host's husband, Steve Janowitz, helped get her feed back up and running quickly. Like Hoda, Joy's co-stars Whoopi Goldberg, Meghan McCain, and Sunny Hostin got a good kick out of the incident.

Working from home is certainly an interesting journey, isn't it?
