Something new is on the horizon for Hoda Kotb, and fans are pondering what it could be.

After Today teased a "huge announcement from Hoda" coming this week, viewers of the broadcast were effectively thrown into a tizzy, left with no clues about the host's upcoming news.

On Monday, July 31, the team teased what was to come in the days ahead, including a few segments in the works—but it was Craig Melvin hinting, "Plus a huge announcement from Hoda that you don't want to miss," that really piqued the interest of fans, who promptly took to social media with their theories.

One shared a comical Trevor Noah meme communicating "the suspense is killing me," while another showed concern: "@hodakotb so you have a special announcement this week? I hope it doesn’t involve you leaving @TODAYshow!"

Though the media journalist—who has been with NBC since 1998, and on Today since 2007—has always talked about how much she loves her career, she has also expressed grief on certain occasions for how often it takes time away from her young daughters Haley, 6, and Hope, 4, namely after her youngest child's medical situation earlier this year.

The morning show hosts didn't elaborate any further at the time, but continued to tease Kotb's "big announcement" later in the show, too, so fans are definitely interested to find out what it will be. It's unclear if the reveal is concerning Hoda's personal life, or her role on Today, but from the looks of it, it'll most likely be the latter.
