Today show fans are beyond thrilled after hearing Al Roker's big announcement on Friday.

Carson Daly devoted part of the Today segment "Pop Start" to share that the NBC morning show's weatherman will be returning to the Broadway musical Waitress from November 1-24. Al first joined Waitress for a limited run back in October 2018.

While Al is reprising his performance of Joe the diner owner, he will be acting and singing alongside former American Idol winner Jordin Sparks, who has recently extended her limited engagement as the lead role, Jenna.

"It's such a terrific cast, they're so wonderful, it's the most fun I've ever had," Al said on the Today show about his decision to go back. He also shared that he's working with his vocal coach to get a "tune up."

On social media, Al's fans immediately got super excited about the news. "☺️☺️☺️💜💜 cant wait to see it with YOU," one wrote. "Holy cow! Love Al! Wishing him lots of luck!" another said.

Last fall, Al had a limited engagement that lasted nearly two months.

"I’m nervous and excited to be making my Broadway debut in such a Pie-conic show," he said at the time. "My character’s name is Old Joe, so I’ve got half of it down already. And there’s pie every night!”

According to Playbill, Al will not be performing at the 2 p.m. ET Saturday matinees or the 7 p.m. Sunday night performances. He is also not scheduled to play Joe on the 8 p.m. November 23 performance.
