  • Last week, Today anchor Savannah Guthrie announced that she will be working from home after experiencing a mild sore throat and runny nose.

  • As coronavirus cases continue to climb in New York City, NBC has encouraged parts of its staff to stay home.

  • Guthrie gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at home life, and fans thought it was hilariously relatable.

In light of the worldwide pandemic that is COVID-19, Today anchor Savannah Guthrie has decided to self-isolate after experiencing a mild sore throat and runny nose. That means when she isn’t hosting the news from her at-home basement setup, she’s slipping back into the same pair of comfy sweatpants. And she’s not one bit ashamed of it. “Is there a statute of limitations on how many days in a row you can wear the same sweatpants?” she captioned a photo showing off hers.

“I think until the family runs away,” Guthrie’s coworker Al Roker commented. The Today meteorologist’s insight is pretty valid, considering he’s also working remotely and embracing stretchy pants.

During his first weather forecast from his “studio kitchen” on March 17, Guthrie, who was still working from the Today studio at the time, wondered if he was even wearing pants at all. “Knowing you, are you wearing pants right now?” she asked with a laugh. Al responded, “Yes! I’m wearing pants for God’s sakes! But they’re stretchy pants.”

And even though she’s still filming from the Today studio, Jenna Bush Hager shared her own lounging outfit in response to Guthrie. “@savannahguthrie I take your sweats and add a taco,” she wrote on Instagram. “Hope everyone is enjoying their babes in comfort.”

Commenters under Guthrie’s original post joined in full support of wearing the same pair of sweats for days at a time. “The limit does not exist!” one wrote. “Bonus - when you get dressed for bed, you are already dressed for work the next day!” another added.

Other fans chimed in with: “Love you! #keepingitreal,” and “Until they stand by themselves. 😂”

Guthrie is sure she’ll be back to the office “in no time,” so she’s taking advantage of the leisure while she can. She announced her temporary displacement on March 18. “Hi everybody! Well, this will be a first. I’m going to be anchoring TODAY from my house!” she wrote on Instagram.

“In an abundance of caution, and to model the super vigilance the CDC has asked of all of us, I’m staying home because I have a mild sore throat and runny nose. This was the advice of NBC’s superb medical team and my bosses. I feel good and am sure I will be back in no time—but during these days, it’s on all of us to be extra cautious and caring of those around us.”

Props to Savannah for doing the right thing, and making it enjoyable by dressing comfortably.
