On Monday, the Today show star caught up with fellow co-anchor Jenna Bush Hager about how she spent her 4th of July weekend. It turns out Hoda and her daughters — Haley Joy and Hope Catherine — were treated to delicious grilled food, courtesy of Joel. But if that doesn’t sound impressive, wait until you see him doing it in the rain.

“We just did a lot of hanging out. We went to the beach … and cooked. Joel was out in the grill doing it,” the 55-year-old said in a clip posted on Twitter. “Look at him. It’s pouring. Look, no shoes. That’s a real man right there.”

“Is that one of the reasons why you’re crazy about him?” Jenna asked. “Yeah,” Hoda said. “That’s what he does … It’s pouring and he’s like this, totally normal.”

“He’s not going to let a little rain get in the way of his grilling,” Jenna said. “No, he’s got his jacket on,” Hoda responded. “He’d do in snow. He’d like make a path to get to the grill.”

Without skipping a beat, Hoda’s fans immediately took to Instagram to share their thoughts. And Joel’s actually not alone when it comes to cooking in some rain.

“Ain't nothing gonna stop grilling! 💜😉😂,” one person wrote. “Hoda, I would like Joel to train my hubby in grill skills!!” another added. “I go to my Grill all the way, Rain Snow or whatever the weather is, weather doesn't stop me!!!” a different fan said. “So would my husband. Loves to grill and cook breakfast ❤️,” a follower commented.
