'Today' Fans Can't Believe Jenna Bush Hager Just Shared This Brutal Parenting Moment on Air

Jenna Bush Hager is no stranger to hearing unwarranted comments given her upbringing and career. But nothing could have prepared the Today show co-host for her daughter’s unfiltered comments about her appearance.

During a recent taping, Jenna opened up to fellow co-host Hoda Kotb about a surprising exchange with her 9-year-old daughter, Mila. It went down when Jenna returned from a work trip to Scotland, and she was excited to see her eldest daughter. But after sharing a hug, Mila apparently gave Jenna some beauty tips. According to the Sisters First author, Mila has a tendency to observe closely and share her thoughts out loud.

“I think I’m fairly attractive. I feel good about myself. But one of my children is always checking me out … all of my flaws,” Jenna said on the show. “Immediately she … looked at me, and she goes ‘You’re right, Mom.’ And I’m like ‘I’m right about what?’ She’s like ‘You do look better in makeup.’ I was like ‘Mila, I don’t think I said I look better in makeup.’”

What’s more, the NBC star also revealed that this isn’t the first time she’s heard these kinds of comments. “In passing, I had my hair up, I was exercising. The other day, she just walked by and goes, ‘Got to do something about those grays. You really should do something about those grays,’” she recalled.

After hearing about these interactions, Hoda noted that it was “the total opposite” of Jenna’s personality. But she also spilled that her daughters have said similar things. As it turns out, Today show fans instantly related to the situation.

“Oh my!!! With one grown child and four grandchildren I have heard it all 😂😂😂,” one person wrote in the Instagram comments section. “Lol!!!! Kids have NO FILTER 🤦🏽♀️,” another added. “Kids are always honest and super generous with the truth 😂😂😂,” a different fan said.

Others also chimed in with encouraging words for the mom of three. “You couldn’t be any more beautiful! 😍,” a follower commented. “You’re beautiful inside and out Jenna!! ❤️,” someone else said. “This really made me smile! Love Jenna! ❤️,” another posted.

Jokes aside, we’re sure Jenna doesn’t take these instances to heart. As folks know, she and husband, Henry Hager, have two other children together — 7-year-old daughter Poppy and 3-year-old son Hal. Something tells us, she'll be sharing similar stories in the future as her kids keep growing!
