'Today' Fans Are Asking Where Savannah Guthrie Is After Her Health Update on Instagram

Update, May 10, 2022, 6 p.m. ET:

Today fans are sending their best to Savannah Guthrie after she tested positive for coronavirus over Mother's Day weekend. The NBC coanchor revealed on May 6 that she had COVID-19 for the second time after her initial diagnosis in January.

"So this happened - again! Covid +, air filter on 'turbo' and it will be an isolating Mother’s Day for this mama!!!" Savannah captioned an at-home test on Instagram. "I feel fine, just slight cold so far. Thankful to be vaccinated!"

On May 9, the Today star checked in with her fellow cohosts Hoda Kotb, Sheinelle Jones and Tom Llamas. Savannah also informed them and viewers that she would be back the next day after five days in quarantine.. "I just had a little cold, so I was really lucky with it," she said on the show. "Mostly I slept ... I really miss you guys."

Original, March 16, 2022, 8 a.m. ET:

After returning from New Orleans over the weekend, Hoda Kotb greeted viewers from the Today show’s Studio 1A in New York City on Monday morning. But she wasn’t accompanied by her usual cohost for the first hour of the NBC show. Before diving into her stories, Hoda addressed the question folks were inevitably going to start asking: Where is Savannah Guthrie?

The Making Space podcast host revealed that fellow Today show coanchor Craig Melvin was filling in for Savannah while she was out of the office for some downtime. “Craig's in early,” Hoda said on March 14. “Savannah is going to enjoy this week off just to chill out.”

Although Savannah didn’t mention that she would be away for several days, her Instagram followers might have noticed that she said a subtle farewell. Savannah posted two photos on Friday featuring her outfit of the day and a playful shot of herself walking away. “Hiiiii byeeeee #Friday,” she captioned the pics. While Savannah hasn’t revealed what she’s been up to since that day, a quick peek at her Twitter hints that she was on the move.

On Saturday morning, she shared her gratitude with United Airlines for making her trip possible during the heavy downpour in the Tristate area. “Getting up in the air on a weather day like today is nothing short of a miracle!” she tweeted. “Thanks John, Rodney and awesome @united team in Newark! #props ✈️.”

Unsurprisingly, Today fans immediately began asking where her flight was taking her. But the inquiries didn’t stop after Hoda’s announcement.

In short, Savannah should be coming back to the Today show on Monday, March 21. As for what she’s doing on her vacation, our best guess is she’s enjoying family time with her husband, Michael Feldman, and their kids — 7-year-old daughter, Vale, and 5-year-old son, Charley. In case you’re wondering, Savannah’s husband also hasn’t posted anything about their getaway. Regardless, in whatever way she’s relaxing, it’s well deserved!
