TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress is adding a new spinoff to its growing family of shows, the network announced Monday, December 16, and this one requires travel across the pond. Starting January 2020, Say Yes to the Dress England will join the list of shows propelled by the original, which is now 17 seasons in.

Currently, TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress spinoffs include versions in the UK, Australia and Canada, as well as provincial or city-specific shows taking place in Lancashire, Atlanta and Vegas. SYTTD UK, which covers the entire UK geographical region, is set in Essex and focuses on the Confetti and Lace bridal boutique, where its English cousin will be entirely different in terms of locale.

Say Yes to the Dress England will star the Ava Rose Hamilton boutique, which, much like Kleinfeld Bridal, is a family-owned and operated dress store based in the town of Lancashire in England. (In fact, the new spinoff is the U.S.-friendly version of Say Yes to the Dress Lancashire. The Ava Rose Hamilton store is housed in numerous locations, including one additional location in Yorkshire in the Village of Silsen.

Stylist Gok Wan, who’s a 2019 newcomer to the franchise, will be the star consultant of the show. Wan has already written several books about fashion and self-confidence, and has previously starred on Say Yes to the Dress Lancashire. “Gok brings a unique blend of humor, a can-do attitude and English country charm to ensure every bride feels as confident as possible in her wedding gown,” TLC’s team writes in its release to The Knot.

As always, it’s the stories of the brides that’s contribute to the longevity of the series. SYTTD England will feature one story about a bride who survived a 2017 terrorist attack in Europe. Another bride has lost her vision and will work closely with Wan to conceive the gown she isn’t able to physically see. There’s also a teaser about a same-sex couple who goes dress shopping together, breaking tradition in the process of it all.
