The New Titanium Timex x The James Brand Watch Is an Instant Classic at an Equally Stunning Price

While it's true enough that the world's two most common selling points—inexpensive and high-quality—don't often jibe, especially in the timepiece market, there are some happy exceptions with brands known for providing impeccable standards at a great deal. When two of those brands team up, the results tend to be even better. Take everyday carry favorites The James Brand and value-oriented watchmaker Timex. Whenever these two companies pair up for a watch release, the results are predictably stellar—at a great price point. This week's launch of the new co-branded, titanium GMT—their fourth partnered timepiece—takes it to another level.

Timex and The James Brand first teamed up in 2021 to launch a 41mm titanium field watch known as the Expedition North. It was an immediate hit. The duo would soon follow up with two additional releases—a white-dial version (2022) and then a multi-colored digital Ironman (2023). Now, the brands are returning to their initial hit with an even more exciting design—a new co-branded, limited-edition titanium GMT watch launching today.

Envisioned by Timex chief creative director Giorgio Galli and designed by the team at The James Brand, the new watch features a 41mm case rendered in hard-wearing titanium—like the original. Design-wise, the new edition takes things to a higher level, emboldening aesthetic sophistication with a glow-in-the-dark GMT hand.

Retaining everything that made its predecessor a huge hit, and more, the new Timex × The James Brand GMT watch is housed underneath sapphire crystal, features a Miyota automatic movement, and provides water resistance up to 200 meters. A TJB-branded sapphire crystal exhibition window reveals the timepiece's 24-jewel automatic movement. Two water resistant watch band options are available: a titanium bracelet with butterfly closure and a perforated resin strap with titanium buckle.

“With the unpredictable nature of global travel in mind, we sought to design a timepiece that would prepare the wearer for whatever may come,” says Ryan Coulter, founder and chief creative officer at The James Brand. “The Timex x James Brand GMT is a tough, dependable, and beautiful watch, but it’s more than just a timekeeping tool. It’s a statement of intention and remaining fully present in the moment.”

Durable, lightweight, and comfortable to wear in all senses, this watch looks and feels practical in a world of impractical timepieces. The Timex × The James Brand GMT is priced with an MSRP of $749 and is available at thejamesbrand.com, timex.com, and huckberry.com. It can also be purchased as part of a 3-piece gift box set which includes with the new Chapter 2 titanium knife and Burwell titanium pen ($1,299), offered exclusively at thejamesbrand.com while supplies last.
