A Tiny House Resort Exists, and We're Booking Our Stay Immediately
Following the popularity of she sheds, tiny homes have become a hot—and totally adorable—trend. Amazon even sells tiny houses that you can build in your very own backyard (maybe as a guest house for the in-laws). But if you’re looking to give small-space living a try without the permanent commitment, we’ve found your next vacation spot: a resort that's entirely made up of comfortable, cute abodes.
Think Big! A Tiny House Resort, which opened in September 2017, has options for every style of vacation—and according to Google Trends, searches for the resort are up 250 percent. Take the family and practice mindfulness in the peace and quiet of the area, have a romantic getaway with your partner that will (literally) bring you closer together, or celebrate your friendships with a girls' trip.

It all started when Melissa Juszczak mentioned to her grandfather, Robert Malkin, who was one of the founders of the Think Big! gallery in New York City's SoHo, that she'd love a tiny house for herself. Robert ran with the idea and made the resort what it is today. Melissa and her mother, Marjorie, now manage the property, while Robert continues to imagine new ways to bring their tiny houses to new locations.
The resort is open year-round to give visitors a much-needed detox from their phones and work, and a chance to reconnect with one another among the picturesque landscape and stunning on-site waterfall. The property is dog-friendly, but even if you leave your own furry friend at home, you’ll still have a chance to be greeted by their resident bunnies, ducks, chickens, and goats.

During the warmer months, you can catch a movie at the resort's outdoor theater, take a dip in their heated pool, explore hiking trails, pick herbs and veggies from the gardens, and enjoy free fresh eggs from the hen house. There’s also creek tubing, kayaking, and yoga classes—complete with visits from the goats.

While they may be small, you won’t be missing out on any amenities when you stay in one of these tiny homes. Each of the nine rental houses has a unique design that includes a kitchen, full bathroom, heat/air conditioning, sleeping space for two to seven people (depending on the rental), WiFi, and a TV. You'll also enjoy your very own private patio with a barbecue grill and fire pit.

These charming tiny houses are packed with character—and their names show that, too. The Little Bear, The Mocha, and The Green Bean are just a few examples of how special you can expect the experience to be when you stay there.

The resort's location is part of what makes visiting it so appealing. The area is known for being popular with artists and outdoor enthusiasts, and you can take a quick day trip to fun towns nearby like Woodstock and Hudson.
